The first season of I Dream of Jeannie consisted of 30 episodes. It premiered on NBC-TV on 18 September 1965 with the series pilot, "The Lady in the Bottle". The season finale, "I'll Never Forget What's Her Name", aired on 7 May 1966. All of the first season episodes were filmed in black and white, as Screen Gems, was reluctant to shoot them in color, believing that the show would not be renewed for a second season by NBC. It was renewed however, and the subsequent four seasons were filmed in color. A total of 139 episodes were produced over five seasons, with the series' final episode, "My Master, the Chili King", airing on 26 May 1970.
