Jeannie, the Hip Hippie is the sixth episode of Season 3 of I Dream of Jeannie, and the 67th overall episode of the series. Written by Christopher Golato and directed by Hal Cooper, it first aired 17 October 1967 on NBC.

Summary[]

Tony's vacation is cancelled as Mrs. Bellows can't find a group to perform at her charity event. Jeannie steps in and brings four people together who claim they can't sing or play. However, she gives them the power to do so and are booked by Mrs. Bellows. When the drummer doesn't turn up, Jeannie takes his place.

Trivia[]

  • The group actually consists of professional musicians William Lewis and Steve O'Reilly (who appear under their real names) plus the songwriters Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, who actually performed a lot of the early material credited to the 60s group, The Monkees.
    • The theme tune to The Monkees television show plays in the background when Jeannie summons the artists.
