About the Major[]
Major Jamison and his wife Nancy and their son Custer are neighbors to Tony that live down the street from him. Mr. Jamison works with the other astronauts and Dr. Bellows at NASA.
When Custer, who both admires and looks up to Tony as a role model, claims that he has seen a "beautiful blonde girl" make Tony float in the air, Jamison dismisses it as his son having a vivid imagination. Jamison is bothered by Custer's speaking about Jeannie again. The boy leaves, then his father tells Nancy that she needs profession help for her son. When Nancy says that her husband was the one who ordered her to have a boy, Mr. Jamison replies, "Not him." The astronaut goes to Dr. Bellows to try to get him to talk to the boy.
When Custer goes missing, Jamison shows rather minimal concern. In fact, he makes a NASA-based joke. He thanks Alfred Bellows for dropping by their home. Tony arrives and speaks with Jamison before Custer returns unexpectedly.
