My Master, the Great Caruso is the thirteenth episode of Season 2 of I Dream of Jeannie, and the 43rd overall episode of the series. Directed by Hal Cooper and written by series creator Sidney Sheldon, it first aired 5 December 1966 on NBC.
Summary[]
Jeannie gives Major Nelson Caruso's glass-breaking voice. He shatters Doctor Bellow's glasses! At his demand, she takes the voice away and promises to never give him that voice again, but meanwhile, Bellows signs Tony up for a singing contest. Tony tries to get out of it by trying to "catch his death of cold." He was wearing light shorts and a t-shirt while having a fan blast open-window air at him and soaking his feet in ice cubes. Jeannie arrives and blinks the window shut, the fan off, Nelson into a fuzzy towel covering his head, and the ice into steaming water. Then Nelson reads a speech out loud at the top of his lungs, causing his voice to grow hoarse. Jeannie, of course, doesn't permit that either and fixes him.
