He is the son of Jeannie and Anthony Nelson and is part human and part genie. He did not know at first that his mother is a genie. He discovered it by accident when his mother was packing up and saw her clothes floating in the bedroom. His mother had no other option than telling him the truth and showed him how she met his father, Anthony Nelson on the tiny island on the Pacific Ocean. He was curious to know if he too could be a genie and tried to blink... but nothing appeared.
In I Dream of Jeannie... Fifteen Years Later, he used his magical powers only once, to remove the cork from his mother's bottle after the wicked twin sister trapped her in her bottle with a special cork that Haji gave her. Only genies could remove that cork.
In I Still Dream of Jeannie, T.J. was trapped by his aunt Jeannie in a green bottle. He was blinked into a white smoke to go into the green bottle. He manages to break the bottle from inside by running to the sides of the bottle making it wiggle until it falls from the table.
