The Moving Finger is the ninth episode of the first season of I Dream of Jeannie. Co-written by Jerry Seelen, and Harry Essex and directed by Gene Nelson, it first aired 13 November 1965 on NBC.

Summary[]

Tony tries to sneak out for a mission to Hollywood, where he is to be the technical advisor for an astronaut film, but Jeannie stops him. He thinks he convinces her to stay home but she smokes herself into an envelope and mails herself to his hotel room. Jeannie blinks herself and Tony to the studios and pretends to be his secretary. Jeannie has stars in her eyes when Tony goes out to dinner with a famous screen actress named Rita Mitchell. She decides to become a movie star to compete with her "rival", but soon realizes that genies don't show up on camera.

Trivia[]

  • The movie for which Tony is working bears a similarity to the 1966 film Fantastic Voyage in which scientists are miniaturized and implanted into an agent to save his life.
  • This is the first episode without the spoken introduction.
