Too Many Tonys is the fifteenth episode of the first season of I Dream of Jeannie. Written by Arthur Horwitt and directed by E.W. Swackhamer, it first aired Christmas Day, 25 December 1965 on NBC.

Summary[]

Frustrated with Tony's apparent lack of affection for her, Jeannie creates a double of him who does all the romantic things that she wishes he would do, such as tell her how much he loves her, kiss her, and such. This begins to irritate Tony, making him jealous.

Dr. Bellows arrives unannounced and is surprised to find Jeannie baking in Tony's kitchen. He is glad, since married men make better astronauts, and tells her so. Thinking she's helping, she blinks up the phony Tony to lay it on thick, and Dr. Bellows thinks they're getting married. He suggests that Sunday morning at the base chapel.

Tony tries to ask him about postponing the wedding, but Dr. Bellows adds more pressure upon him, telling him: "Now that you're marrying that girl there'll be no more incidents. There'll be no more behaving peculiarly. You're gonna stop talking to walls, hearing voices and and 115 other things listed in here... Yes, sir, I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Sunday!"

On the day of the wedding, Jeannie reluctantly sides with Tony in "leaving him standing at the altar", acting as if she did not want to marry him, as Dr. Bellows tells him, "That's a very unstable girl. l think you're a lucky man to be out of it!"
